The WIRED Training Fund initially consisted of $858,000, available through the end of the grant in June 2010.The purpose of the fund was to provide training in support of our advanced manufacturing industries through a regional framework. The Training Fund presentation, available for download below, summarized the guiding principles, regional approach, and criteria for making funding decisions. The Training Fund Workgroup reviewed surveys of training needs in October 2008 and developed training targets and process for soliciting proposals responsive to those training needs.  The Training Fund was subsequently expanded to more than $1.5 million.  423 new workers and 482 incumbent workers completed WIRED-funded training during the grant period.
